Sharing herewith a link to an article that was published by the Forbes magazine online. It lists out the various layoffs in the US job market from Jan-May 2026 that have been attributed by corporates to increased use of AI. A closer look though, reveals that the underlying reasons are more nuanced. For example: in some cases, the layoffs were due to similar efficiencies being derived through deployment of AI tools at lower costs, while in some it was to fund the exploration of AI use cases and / or AI investments.
