While these lyrics may have been written from the perspective of a spurned lover (or a stalker?), I don't think anyone in those times would have dreamt of a surveillance state type of situation today where these lyrics would come back to haunt us.
Recent revelations that the Android OS on your smartphone has been sending back your location details to Google have come in as a big shocker as it is happening even when you have expressly turned off the location services, haven't used any mobile apps and even with no SIM card inside the phone.
