Cognitive biases to be aware of
HEALTH & MEDICINE
To quote from a website (www.verywellmind.com) - biases often work as rules of thumb that help you make sense of the world and reach decisions with relative speed. Cognitive biases are systematic errors in thinking that occur when people are processing and interpreting information in the world around them. They occur mainly as a result of the brain's attempt to simplify information processing. For example: 'self-serving bias' where our failures are perceived to be situational while successes are our responsibility / owed to us. Being aware of these biases help us better navigate around decision making pitfalls.
The link below from the website of visual capitalist illustrates 50 different cognitive biases with examples. It is a fun and an informative read at the same time! Have a look and let me know your thoughts.
