Tourism is one sector which an economy can responsibly develop and thus provide for mass employment and a constant revenue stream. One critical factor that determines the success in the above mentioned objective is embedding sustainability into the whole process. Exploiting the available natural / man-made resources without caring for their upkeep is not only a bad idea in terms of social responsibility, it is also bad business. By making sure that tourism growth does not come at a cost to the environment and social norms, an economy can look forward to harnessing the potential of this business sector for years to come,

The following report from the World economic forum highlights this point and is a good read for any set of stakeholders associated with this business sector.
