OpenAI, a R&D company based in US has recently allowed a few set of users to try out its new language generator tool called GPT-3. Using advanced machine learning techniques, the tool is able to generate human-like text on demand. Examples tweeted by early set of users include - generation of balance sheet by simply typing out nature of business transactions in plain English (Financial Accountants - beware!), generation of short fictional stories in the style of a celebrated author with only the name of the author and the starting word as the input and so on. While the use cases are still being explored and the company is working on monetising the tool's capabilities, it is already clear that its utility potential is enormous. Write-ups simplifying how the tool operates, state that it can consider up to 175 billion parameters while formulating a response to a question / task! Given below is a link to an article that appeared on the technology review portal about this new piece of technology. Go through it and you will be surprised, amazed and perhaps scared in equal parts :-)
