Ice sculptures at Harbin
ARTS & CULTURE
The Harbin Ice and Snow festival is the largest of its kind in the world. Set in the north eastern province of China, it provides a stage for international and domestic participants to create sculptures out of blocks of ice taken from the nearby Songhua river. With average temperatures much below the freezing point for almost a month in January, this festival showcases some of the most beautiful spectacles made out of ice and illumination.
