Today, the world population spends a lot of time on the internet on either of Facebook and Google properties to make sense of what is happening around them. While this is largely because the products are helpful and largely make sense in serving us what we are interested in, one also ought to bear in mind that the ease of service also makes us susceptible to miss potentially useful sources that do not find favour with these products. There is also the risk that a few malicious actors exploit the collective trust that we place in these products to plant fake news.
