With recent breakthroughs by researchers at Google and Stanford, mankind has moved one step closer to the day when machines can one day recognize and interpret visual cues in the same way as we humans do. Combining advances in computer vision with advances in computer based text analysis and natural language processing, these breakthroughs have successfully demonstrated that machines (computers) can now provide captions to images that not only describe the principal characters in the images but also explain what they are doing. This advancement of actually identifying the activity (verb in the sentence) is a big leap indeed!
