Microsoft Co-pilot: a gamechanger in office productivity?
BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT
In the past few months, the launch of successively better AI based chat bots (ChatGPT3 and ChatGPT4) have set the entire tech world abuzz with visions of how these would, could and should impact our daily lives. After acquiring the company that developed these conversational bots, Microsoft has quickly integrated that particular technology into its most popular enterprise software i.e., the Office 365 suite of productivity tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams.
Launched recently under the brand name 'Copilot', the new office 365 suite of products promises to remove the drudgery out of the day-to-day work. All one has to do is converse with the integrated bot, explain the task at hand and watch in wonder as the Copilot proposes some draft solutions! For example, given some meeting notes, the Copilot can create a Powerpoint presentation based on the key points in those notes. Another example is where for a given data set in Excel, the Copilot could suggest and generate appropriate data visualizations.
