Moore's law
SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
Gordon Moore, the co-founder of Intel, had famously observed sometime around 1965 that the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since the integrated circuit was invented. Further he had predicted that this trend would continue into the foreseeable future. This prediction, colloquially labelled as the Moore's law, has been proved to be valid right until today's age.
The below article from the www.nature.com website elaborates on the specific scientific advances that have contributed to upholding the Moore's law until now as well as an informed guess on what would be needed for its continuance in the future.
