Ordeals that inspire faith!
ARTS & CULTURE
Over the past week or so, a news story is increasingly getting viewership around the world: it relates to the on-going rescue mission for a teenaged soccer team from Thailand that ventured into a labyrinth cave network on the Thailand-Myanmar border and are now stuck inside due to torrential rains that have resulted in flooding. Fortunately they have been spotted and a line for emergency supplies has been setup. The logistics of extracting them from their position though is a daunting challenge as the cave network is partially flooded, on-going rains that are pumping in more water and the boys not being able to swim through. Fingers crossed!
A similar situation had occurred a few years ago, 2010 to be precise, when a group of miners in the Atacama desert area were stuck underground for 69 days before being extracted to the surface! Given below is a link to some fast facts on that ordeal. Go through it and find inspiration in the collective human endurance, sacrifice, courage, efforts and faith!
