Passwords - the digital gatekeepers
SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
As our lives have increasingly become digital in nature, the need to maintain a log of all the sign-in credentials has become an onerous task. I was counting the other day the number of digital services I consume and it turned out that there are around 100+ services for whom I need to remember the login user name and the password!
While security experts say that ideally all such services should have different passwords (so that even if one of them gets compromised, the digital villains wont find it easy to hack into your other digital accounts), it is easier said than done. Remembering passwords with their own specifics ranging from upper/lower case characters to numbers and special characters is simply out of reach for most of us.
To help us out, there is a breed of applications called the password managers. As Mashable magazine says it right - these are one of the greatest things created - as long as you don't forget the master password that is :-)
Read through the article below and let me know if these applications seem helpful.
