P.G. Wodehouse: A treasure trove of nuanced humour
ARTS & CULTURE
15th October marked the 139th birth anniversary of the celebrated author P.G. Wodehouse. His humourous writings have left an indelible impression on multitudes of generations. I consider myself as being privileged for having had the opportunity to learn English as a language and further appreciate its richness via Wodehouse's works. Reading his books always brought a smile to my face. The vivid descriptions of the early 20th century England and the intrepid adventures of his characters such as Bertram Wooster, his unflappable buttler - Jeeves, Ukridge, Mulliner (the list is endless) in these settings, have provided for a fascinating imagery that has made travel to U.K. as one of the items on my bucket list.
Given below is a link to an article that captures some of the funny quotes from his books. Read on, smile and have a great day!
