Postponing death

Since time immemorial, humans have invested a lot of efforts in finding ways to prevail over the inevitability of death. Without getting into the morality and ethics of aiming for this goal, in medical terms even we are probably still quite far off from achieving it.

Which is why I found the following article quite interesting - it is about an ongoing medical research to potentially cheat death by placing the body in the state of 'suspended animation'. The work done so far is truly staggering and definitely blurs the line between science fiction and reality that much more.
