PR nightmare of the tech industry

Of late, the technology industry has been plagued by events that have been a public relations nightmare - be it fake news, use of these tools to propogate social ills such as suicides / murders, . Amidst all of this, one organization by far that has withstood any dent in its public image - has been Amazon. An article appearing in the Wired magazine aims to analyze and understand why Amazon and its CEO in particular have been spared of any public repercussions despite the bad press they received for the alleged inhuman treatment of their employees. It makes for a nice read and seems to suggest that as long as organizations provide a service that is as per their promises made to the customers and keep up a facade of being an underdog trying to take on the purported corporate baddies for greater public good, all the transgressions are forgiven.
