Removing the exclusivity of a MBA degree

BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT

In what promises to be a significant step forward in the history of the accounting firm Ernst & Young, the firm has announced that all (yes you read it right) of its 284K plus employees would be eligible to pursue a MBA degree from Hult Business School free of cost to them! This is expected to benefit the firm in three ways - increase employee satisfaction, retention and up-skill them for being prepared to deal with the changing face of work activities in the light of technological advancements. The link below provides some more details about this announcement. I believe that the other big accounting firms (PWC, Deloitte and KPMG) will be forced to respond in a similar way to maintain their competitive edge. Further, such large scale access to a MBA degree may dilute its market perception and also provide stiff competition to the Tier 2 and 3 MBA programmes around the world.
