The 'loneliness' epidemic

Over the past decades, many of the societies (especially the ones in the Western world) have placed individualism on a higher pedestal vis-a-vis collectivism. The psychological and physical cost of this misplaced emphasis on oneself is very well brought out in an article that appeared recently in the Harvard Health magazine. This article outlined how loneliness is becoming increasingly prevalent and the toll that it has on the body and the mind.
